After watching so-called “Reality TV”, I am so over the airing of ignorance, trash and bad behavior… and the television companies celebrating it and making money off of it! What happened to rising to be the cream of the crop? Don’t drop $$$ dressing yourself up… you’re still a bore, a snore and have behavior that I abhor! You may shop a lot, throw money around…but you are not cultured in any way, shape or form. This all got me thinking about those who are truly stylish…have great style and those who think they do.
Style- Chic, elegant, trendy, sophisticated, edgy…just some words describing style. What about the other components? Poise, etiquette, speech…..etc. If you are dressed in Dior or Armani, does that make you automatically stylish? NO! First off, wearing designer clothing is not a fast track ticket to Style-ville. Wear a $5,000.00 designer outfit, hair coiffed and you walk hunched over, spewing expletives and leaving off the last few letters of a word…add rudeness and tacky behavior and you have the opposite of stylish.
Money does not give you class. You cannot buy manners, but you can hire someone to teach you better ways. Throwing around money is not stylish. Rude and crude is definitely not stylish. Bad table manners…well, lets just say, get some help.
You can dress up a tacky, ignorant person but the second they open their mouths, take a bite or sit in a short skirt..the party is over. Chic style is all encompassing…..going far beyond clothing on the outside but character on the inside.
When my clients hire me to dress them, I offer my full range of services, if needed. I coach on total presence, not just pretty up the outside and leave you hanging. Coaching not only gives you the social graces but gives you extraordinary confidence to successfully negotiate any circumstance you may be placed in. Are you prepared?
