After a 33 day…8,160 mile road trip, I have been reflecting on the sites I’ve seen, the fashion I witnessed, and the stand-out images throughout it all. My visit in Seattle was eye-opening and refreshing. The people of Seattle are open, creative, stylish and not afraid to be an individual. During my travels I saw a lot of regional dressing, a city ‘uniform’ if you will. Seattle, they may have their own color palette but no uniform…and I was in every nook and cranny of the metro area to test it. That is the beauty of Seattle. Everyone fits in. Everyone has their own style. No cookie cutter image. Fascinating!
The surprising fashionistas of the city are the men! I saw the best use of accessories on men, ever. The most “pique-my-interest” trend, was skirts. On men. Some say they are kilts. Do they need to be plaid and wool to really be a kilt? Whatever you feel comfortable calling them..be my guest. All I can say is, “Kudos Gentlemen”.
Forgive this photo as he kept moving so it is a bit blurred.
He kept it together in all black. V-neck short-sleeved top, black skirt, black tights, tote and sandals. The flop sandals failed, but he made up for it with a sleek short ponytail. Chic points given for an outfit worn feeding the birds in the park.
This next gentleman I spotted at Pike’s Public Market. You couldn’t help but notice him! Taxi yellow M&M jacket..size XXL at least, black skirt with mega hardware accents, huge muscular bare legs and black boots.
I was shocked but excited to see men in skirts. I think its kind of hot!
Now that is an outfit!
Guys, could you pull off the skirt look? I know you can! It is kind of like a man wearing pink. It always looks good, you just need to be confident to wear it. Confidence is one of the most important attributes of successful dressing.
Don’t be afraid to express your individual style. Keep creative dressing alive.
