In Florida, our hot summer temps start in April and continue to at least October. Needless to say, getting in the mood for Fall fashion is a climb. I am at the point where I am tired of Summer clothes, Summer color palette, and of course… Summer weather. How do we stay cool when the mercury is up, but look on trend and not out of season?
I figured the first sensible change would be nail color. So I took the leap and went from pinky white, to extreme purple.
Sally Hanson Insta-Dry fast dry nail color in Pronto Purple, a rich shade with a nice little shimmer. Two coats and I’m happy. If you’re not ready to go purple on your fingers, take on your toes! I say, paint your toes any crazy color you wish…with the exception of greenish-gray. I spotted that hue on a woman and it looked a little gangrene-like. Urp. Not attractive. Tip: Your nail color should complement your job. Remember…image.
Nail polish is like lingerie. If you show a little…expect attention, so choose and wear wisely. If it is undercover….anything goes! 😉
My second pick was a light weight, peep-toe bootie in suede, is a perfect way to transition into Fall. Nothing is better than a new pair of kicks!
A boost of color to awaken an earthy Autumn wardrobe adds excitement. These in blue suede with cut outs, are fab…Elvis would have approved. Shake a hip!
When the weather is too hot to dress for Fall, accessories are the ticket to trend. Also consider scarves, hats, belts and handbags in your favorite rich color palette and fabrics, to turn your sweltering summer look into a tad of Autumn.
A few ways to ease down the path to the FW2011 collections…even when the heat index is 100 +.
