Michael Kors Spring14

Rich in the vintage style of the 30’s and 40’s, the elevated feel, print, cuts, and textures spins Michael Kors Spring14 collection into a winner. Something the glamour girls of Hollywood’s Golden Age would love.

I must say, Michael Kors never drops the ball. I have more MK than any other designer. We share the same aesthetic for everyday wear. His designs work for me and I always feel special in them. Spring14 is no exception. As a fan of 30’s/40’s fashion, I am thrilled his pieces harken back to that era.

His tailored white suiting and wide-legged trousers are a perfect blend of swagger and elegance. Definitely a look Marlene Dietrich and Betty Davis would rock. The color trend of the season, his blue collection of dresses with cutouts and keyholes, the feminine and flirty would flatter Greta Garbo or Ginger Rogers. Add sheer designs to them and wow, Vivien Leigh star quality.  Accent the looks with a little leather or snakeskin ( I adore), to impress like Lauren Bacall. The greens and browns of floral prints with high-waisted skirts and bandau tops are easy breezy casual and fresh for a Rita Hayworth retro look.

Easy elegance, chic comfort, and what you have, my Dear, is nothing short of fabulous and glamour worthy.

Peter Som Spring14

Waves of beautiful blues, neutrals, black, and white showed out strong on Peter Som’s Spring 14 runway, during New York Fashion Week. My heart fluttered with each pair of wide-legged floating pants, cropped tops, jackets and coats. The blue and black print skirt above made me moan. Ahhhh ecstacy. Great pieces to mix together or grab and style with something out-of-bounds. So fresh, so elegant…with an edge of feisty. Everyone better start now to prepare their abs for Spring!  Brava Peter. Brava.

Tadashi Shoji Spring14

Feminine body con silhouettes, dreamy muted pastel colors, and a stunning mix of textures, makes for a masterful collection by Tadashi Shoji. These looks were some of my favorites. By that I mean, I would love to be draped in any of them. Stunning! When a woman wants to feel both pretty and powerful, these designs gracefully give you that one, two punch of fabulous.

Emerging Designer Suzette Kelly Showing at NYFW

Michael Kors F/W 2010

CHIC. RICH. LUXURIOUS. WEARABLE. Michael Kors hit it out of the park with his Fall/Winter 2010 collection for men and women. Everything is wearable….. if you have incredible style. Furs, huge draped cowl necks, liquidy long skirts, belting. Typical colors of fall/winter, but with a glimmer.   http://MichaelKors.com

Ports 1961: 2010 Fall Collection

New York Fashion Week is underway and not without instance from Mother Nature and her blizzard to the morning’s untimely and shocking death of designer Lee Alexander McQueen.  He will be sorely missed. Gone too soon.

After a moment of silence, Ports 1961 revealed their collection for Fall 2010. Besides the obligatory black, the color palette was gorgeous in rich green, bronze, steel and shades of deep burgundy, plum and purple.

 Many pieces were reminiscent of the 1920’s era, done to perfection of course, with a young twist. Some cuts on the other hand, were cooly space age, but appropriate. I admire the use of full length gloves up (and sometimes over) the elbow, and adore the return of gloves for style and not just warmth. Ladylike with an edge…very fashion forward but very wearable.

Congratulations to the design house of Ports 1961. Brava.Brilliance.Love.
